Responsibilities
- Own the embedded Linux platform end to end, including the bootloader, kernel, device tree, and root filesystem.
- Bring up custom hardware from first power-up through reliable customer-site operation.
- Write and maintain Linux kernel drivers connecting sensors to the autonomy stack.
- Diagnose whether field failures originate in drivers or hardware faults.
- Drive OTA update and recovery strategies for globally deployed machines.
- Maintain CI/CD pipelines for kernel, bootloader, and userspace images.
- Implement security hardening including secure boot, disk encryption, container isolation, and vulnerability patching.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience with NVIDIA Jetson platforms, including Thor, Orin, Xavier, Nano, or equivalent, and the JetPack/L4T ecosystem.
- Deep knowledge of Linux kernel internals, including device drivers, device trees, interrupt handling, memory management, and scheduling.
- Experience with custom hardware bring-up involving pin muxing, clock configuration, regulator control, PCIe, USB, I2C, SPI, UART, CSI, and Ethernet.
- Strong understanding of circuit diagrams and digital electronics.
- Ability to take full ownership in a fast-moving startup environment.
- Strong written and spoken English.
- Experience with Yocto, Buildroot, nixOS, or bootc is a bonus.
- Power, thermal, or performance optimization experience on resource-constrained SoCs is a bonus.
- Familiarity with Git, automated build and deployment processes, JTAG, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, safety-critical firmware, and robotics middleware such as iceoryx2 or DDS is beneficial.
