Responsibilities
- Design and implement network and cloud-based services for authentication, encryption, QoS, packet forwarding, and spectrum management.
- Develop scalable network and cloud management and provisioning frameworks for software-defined networking and services.
- Implement device-management capabilities including configuration, software upgrades, command-line interfaces, and web GUIs.
- Build software for network fault diagnostics, event logging, statistics collection, and fault isolation and analysis.
- Design services for scalability, decentralized management, resilience, failover, and interoperability with customer networks.
- Lead features through completion and troubleshoot issues by developing optimal solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering with at least seven years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree or PhD with at least five years of relevant experience.
- Advanced knowledge of computer networks, TCP/IP, protocols, and Internet architecture.
- Deep understanding of UNIX-style operating systems, including interprocess communication and multithreading.
- Experience with socket, network, and systems programming in C/C++.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting capabilities on UNIX-style operating systems.
- Strong C++ or Go programming experience is a plus.
- Strong scripting skills with Python, Bash, or similar languages and familiarity with web development technologies are a plus.
- Experience with version control systems and collaboration tools such as wikis and ticket systems.
- Previous embedded software development experience for carrier or enterprise telecom products is a plus.
- Expertise in at least one area including packet forwarding and routing, network and cloud management, authentication and security technologies, or MAC and network-layer implementation of wireless standards.
