Responsibilities
- Deliver GitLab installation, migration, training, and advisory engagements.
- Plan and execute deployments from single-node Omnibus installations to large reference architectures using infrastructure as code and configuration as code.
- Lead migrations from source systems to GitLab SaaS or self-managed GitLab.
- Serve as a technical advisor by translating customer goals and constraints into implementation plans.
- Manage multiple customer engagements and lead or oversee other Professional Services Engineers.
- Partner with Engagement Managers, Project Managers, and GitLab product and engineering teams to improve delivery and customer outcomes.
- Mentor Associate and Intermediate Professional Services Engineers and help remove technical blockers.
- Share customer feedback to improve GitLab features, services, and delivery processes.
Requirements
- Professional exposure to infrastructure as code or configuration as code technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, Packer, Puppet, Chef, or Kubernetes.
- Professional exposure to at least two cloud providers, such as AWS, GCP, or Microsoft Azure.
- Experience using, deploying, or configuring GitLab and understanding Git and source control workflows.
- Strong grounding in security and AI technologies.
- Experience delivering customer-facing installation, migration, training, and advisory services.
- Ability to independently manage projects and lead or direct Professional Services Engineers on complex engagements.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills, including status reporting and consensus building with customers and peers.
- Ability to identify root causes, propose options and tradeoffs, drive issues to resolution, and manage multiple engagements.
- Ability to work effectively in a fully remote, largely asynchronous organization across time zones.
