Responsibilities
- Design and implement automated tests validating data accuracy and pipeline reliability.
- Perform comprehensive manual testing and develop automated scenarios using Gherkin syntax and the existing automation framework.
- Review business requirements and technical specifications with business analysts and developers to ensure testability and prevent defects early.
- Create and maintain QA documentation.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers, QA Engineers, developers, and other product teams on implemented functionality.
- Troubleshoot and debug data discrepancies, container issues, and pipeline failures.
- Use AI tools to accelerate test case generation, bug analysis, and script writing.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software quality assurance experience.
- Strong knowledge of test design techniques and test coverage practices.
- Proficiency in at least one of Java, C#, Python, or TypeScript.
- Ability to write complex SQL queries using joins, aggregations, and groupings for data validation.
- Professional experience with Spark and Spark SQL, including Spark jobs, DataFrames/Datasets, and data querying.
- Experience with Delta Lake or one of its implementations.
- Understanding of BDD and hands-on experience with Cucumber, SpecFlow, or similar frameworks.
- Strong Git knowledge, including branching, merging, rebasing, and conflict resolution.
- Understanding of containerization and experience running, inspecting, and troubleshooting containers.
- Hands-on experience with AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or specialized QA agents.
- B1+ proficiency in both English and Russian, with strong communication, troubleshooting, and debugging skills.
- Preferred: basic Scala knowledge; Apache Airflow experience; Apache Kafka testing experience; CI/CD pipeline experience with tools such as GitLab CI or GitHub Actions; Bash scripting; and familiarity with AI Agents, Skills, and MCP.
