Responsibilities
- Design distributed systems that are resilient and secure at scale.
- Raise the engineering bar on scale, resiliency, and security fundamentals.
- Discover and influence new design, architecture, and standards.
- Investigate and implement innovative technologies for infrastructure expansion.
- Champion the enterprise infrastructure vision and strategy.
- Be the expert in service reliability and sustainability.
- Develop and execute designs for complex systems.
- Gather and leverage metrics to manage server fleet and computing systems.
- Ensure detailed design, analysis, testing, and optimization.
- Set direction/goals for project impact and engineering efficiency.
- Lead major initiatives, projects, and phased releases.
- Mentor new team members for successful onboarding.
- Collaborate with engineers and external customers to understand requirements.
- Adhere to confidentiality and regulatory policies.
- Maintain compliance with Inovalon’s policies and mission.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for critical issues.
Requirements
- Minimum 15 years of experience with Unix management and complex computing platforms.
- Strong architectural, system design, and automation experience.
- Experience with technologies like Hive, Hbase, Sqoop, Ranger, and NIFI.
- Experience engineering solutions on major Hadoop distributions.
- Proficient in virtualization technologies and problem-solving.
- Creative troubleshooter with a penchant for innovative solutions.
- Extensive knowledge of industry standards and infrastructure operations.
- Ability to manage stressful situations with calm and confidence.
- Experience in building high-quality, reliable work.
- Experience improving stability through code reviews and testing.
