Base Salary
$146k - $234k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
- Develop and manage data infrastructure using AWS cloud services and Terraform.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, autonomy engineering teams, and product teams to address data needs.
- Optimize data processing systems for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging for data pipelines and infrastructure.
- Champion data governance, data quality, and security best practices.
- Improve data ecosystem tooling, user experience, and team roadmap with senior team members and management.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least five years of professional software engineering experience focused on data-related projects.
- Proficiency in at least one data engineering language such as Python, Go, or C++.
- Experience with big data processing technologies such as Presto/Trino, EMR, Apache Spark, Flink, or Kinesis Data Stream.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure and data services such as S3, Redshift, BigQuery, or Glue.
- Strong SQL knowledge and experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Intermediate knowledge of data analytics infrastructure, DBT, and visualization tools.
- Experience building and managing pipelines with an orchestrator such as Apache Airflow.
- Ability to develop pragmatic, scalable solutions to open-ended data problems.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, fast-moving, high-stakes environment.
- Ability to communicate technical, data-driven solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Desirable experience includes AI tooling, LLMs, agentic frameworks, Snowflake, data lake architectures, modern data stack practices, and Amazon Web Services tools.
