Base Salary
$183k - $265k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and manage unified multi-model database solutions spanning relational, key-value, graph, and vector search engines.
- Deploy MCP servers to expose databases through secure, standardized interfaces for AI agents.
- Lead complex database modernization and source-to-destination migrations using migration agents and Database Migration Service.
- Use Gemini-powered database center and database observability agents to analyze telemetry, simulate workloads, diagnose root causes, and apply remediations.
- Implement QueryData APIs and database-specific contexts for conversational analytics that translate natural-language questions into SQL.
- Establish encryption, access control, and IAM security protocols aligned with industry regulations and Google Cloud best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- Eight years of experience with Google Cloud databases, including AlloyDB, Cloud SQL, Spanner, Firestore, and Bigtable.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle, and SQL Server, including database engines, schema design, and concurrency.
- Experience developing applications with Java, Python, build systems, ORMs such as Hibernate, and JDBC.
- Experience with infrastructure as code and AI integration using Terraform, LangChain, and LangGraph.
- Experience with performance optimization and high availability/disaster recovery, including execution plans, wait states, indexing, connection pooling, replication, automated failover, multi-region disaster recovery, and point-in-time recovery.
- Preferred master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
- Preferred Professional Cloud Database Engineer certification.
- Preferred experience with Gemini analytics, Observability Agents, hybrid or multi-cloud data environments, Google Cloud migrations, vector and graph technologies, Dataflow, CDC, agent architectures, and MCP Toolbox.

- US base salary is $183000 - $265000, plus a 20% bonus target, equity, and benefits.
