Responsibilities
- Design and build ETL pipelines using PySpark, SQL, and Azure data services for complex healthcare datasets.
- Develop data quality validation frameworks and healthcare-specific validation rules, and troubleshoot schema, transformation, and performance issues.
- Build reusable integration components, optimize pipeline performance, and maintain technical documentation.
- Support production deployments through coordination with infrastructure teams and final testing.
- Advise health system partners on data mapping, transformation approaches, architecture decisions, schemas, access methods, and integration constraints.
- Communicate QC and backtesting findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders and coordinate data-quality issue resolution with the Data Integration Manager.
- Prototype AI-powered product features, data capabilities, proof-of-concept integrations, and analytical tools with product and engineering teams.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of tools, processes, technical standards, and reusable implementation patterns.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in data analytics, data engineering, or solution delivery, including data integration and ETL.
- Proficiency with PySpark, advanced SQL, and Excel.
- Experience building and maintaining production-grade ETL pipelines with error handling, monitoring, validation, and data-quality troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Blob Storage, and Delta Lake.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
- Preferred experience with Epic Clarity, healthcare datasets, EHR, claims, clinical and laboratory data, and healthcare standards including FHIR, HL7v2, DICOM, LOINC, SNOMED, and ICD-10.
- Preferred understanding of HIPAA requirements, healthcare data security, dimensional modeling, modern data architecture, and performance tuning.
- Preferred experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, LIMS/PACS integrations, healthcare data formats, AI-assisted development tools, and client-facing technical consulting or solutions engineering.
