Base Salary
$100k - $155k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build AWS GovCloud infrastructure, network security, compliance controls, and isolated multi-environment platforms.
- Establish and optimize PostgreSQL database infrastructure, including replication, backup and recovery, high availability, performance tuning, and security hardening.
- Create Chef cookbooks, recipes, and automation frameworks for infrastructure provisioning and repeatable deployments.
- Configure Google SAML-based application access controls, identity management, and secure authentication.
- Deploy and administer BI infrastructure, including installation, performance optimization, user management, and authentication integration.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, observability, runbooks, operational standards, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Monitor, triage, and resolve data-pipeline and infrastructure incidents, including ETL/ELT failures, database issues, and access problems.
- Partner with security, compliance, DevOps, and data engineering teams on CI/CD, orchestration, automated testing, and infrastructure deployment automation.
Requirements
- 6+ years of infrastructure engineering and operations experience, including at least 3+ years of hands-on AWS experience.
- Experience building greenfield cloud infrastructure from design through production deployment.
- Strong PostgreSQL administration experience covering performance tuning, replication, backup and recovery, security, and high availability.
- Strong Python skills plus Bash or Ruby scripting experience for automation and operations.
- Hands-on Chef experience creating and maintaining cookbooks, recipes, roles, and environments.
- Experience with Google SAML integration, SSO, enterprise identity, and access management.
- Experience administering Tableau Server or another BI application.
- Understanding of network architecture, firewall management, VPC configuration, security boundaries, configuration management, CI/CD, monitoring, and version control.
- Experience with CloudWatch, Datadog, Nagios, Jenkins, GitLab, and Git is relevant to the role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related IT discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Experience using AI technologies to improve decision-making and operational efficiency.
- Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident and eligible for, or able to obtain, government security clearance.
- Strong independent decision-making, communication, collaboration, and greenfield project ownership skills.
