Responsibilities
- Design and develop new application functionality.
- Work with the team on functional and non-functional requirements, technical analysis, and design.
- Code, test, review team members’ changes, and automate unit tests for high code coverage.
- Document business and functional requirements, design decisions, and APIs.
- Collaborate with QA on test automation for new and existing functionality.
- Contribute to future-state system architecture and production-platform stability.
- Investigate and implement solutions that improve application reliability and minimize downtime.
- Lead or control the work of other team members where applicable.
- Define and implement technical best practices, solutions, and standards.
- Mentor colleagues, contribute to internal technical training, and share knowledge across the professional community.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or equivalent, from an accredited college or university.
- 2 to 4 years of proven Java experience focused on multithreading, collections, concurrency, and optimization.
- Hands-on experience designing, developing, and maintaining complex applications with SQL Server and/or Oracle database experience.
- Proficiency in object-oriented software development and deep experience with Java, J2EE, or Python.
- Hands-on knowledge of Spring Boot, Spring Core, MVC, JPA, Security, and transaction handling.
- Experience with HTML, CSS, web services, JUnit or Selenium, build tools, source control, continuous integration, and cloud or Docker-based deployment.
- Working expertise with Kafka, Spark, Elastic, and Kibana.
- Professional experience with GWT/GXT and Angular or React.
- Experience with TDD, data modeling, SQL queries, Oracle stored procedures/functions, Unix, JSON, and XML-to-JSON transformation.
- Experience with TeamCity or Jenkins in a CI/CD environment and with Scrum, Kanban, or XP teams.
- Exposure to GCP, AWS, or Azure and testing frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, or Cucumber.
- Preferred minor in Finance, Mathematics, or Engineering.
- Ability to use AI tools productively and responsibly while applying critical judgment to data and AI outputs.
- Ability to produce well-tested, documented, high-performance code under tight schedules.
