Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable web applications, backend systems, and data pipelines.
- Develop and enhance video metadata software solutions using platform-first principles focused on scale, consistency, and reliability.
- Design large-scale distributed systems and enterprise-grade applications from scratch.
- Build ETL/ELT processes and optimize data pipelines for performance, cost, and reliability.
- Implement APIs, backend data processing, database schemas, and messaging-based systems.
- Write maintainable code, conduct code reviews, troubleshoot applications, and optimize system performance.
- Participate in architecture discussions, technical decision-making, planning, development, testing, deployment, and engineering process improvements.
- Lead and mentor engineers while collaborating with product managers, designers, and other engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 6 years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on Python.
- Strong experience designing, developing, and scaling enterprise-grade applications and distributed systems.
- Deep proficiency in C and C++, with exposure to Java, Go, and JavaScript.
- Understanding of operating systems, memory management, system performance tuning, networking protocols, and socket programming.
- Experience building ETL/ELT processes, optimizing data pipelines, and designing large-scale database schemas.
- Mandatory experience with SQL, NoSQL, and vector datastores, including database systems such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, Neo4j, Pinecone, pgvector, and Milvus.
- Proven experience leading and mentoring engineering teams and delivering projects successfully.
- Strong knowledge of backend development, data processing, API implementation, RESTful APIs, and microservices architecture.
- Working knowledge of machine learning and data science concepts.
- Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a plus.
- Experience with agentic workflows and AI/LLM orchestration systems such as LangGraph, LangChain, and crewAI is desirable.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, interpersonal, independent-work, and collaboration skills.
