Base Salary
$196k - $309k/yr
Responsibilities
- Set technical direction for machine learning and AI initiatives powering Confluence experiences.
- Design and build production-grade ML systems, evaluation workflows, experimentation loops, and supporting infrastructure.
- Translate ambiguous product opportunities into technical strategies, measurable outcomes, and shipped AI experiences.
- Advance model behavior, retrieval, ranking, prompt and workflow design, automated evaluation, quality measurement, and system reliability.
- Partner with engineering, product, design, analytics, and platform teams on priorities, roadmaps, and cross-organizational initiatives.
- Identify product and model failure modes, develop interventions, and use experimentation and data-driven iteration to improve customer impact.
- Make architectural decisions balancing model quality, latency, cost, safety, maintainability, and user experience.
- Prototype, implement, debug, and guide complex production rollouts as a hands-on engineer.
- Mentor engineers, lead design reviews, improve technical quality, and establish reusable patterns for multiple teams.
