Base Salary

$125k - $229k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture, implementation, and long-term evolution of large-scale platform security services.
  • Own cross-cutting initiatives involving authentication, authorization, identity, and secure access.
  • Make architectural decisions balancing security, reliability, scalability, and developer experience.
  • Build and maintain shared libraries and frameworks for secure-by-default engineering practices.
  • Drive testing, observability, operational readiness, and incident response for security-critical systems.
  • Partner with engineers, SREs, and stakeholders across teams to deliver platform security capabilities.
  • Mentor engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and technical leadership.
  • Manage a small team of engineers and provide technical direction and mentorship.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and lead incident response.
  • Explore automation and AI-driven approaches for assessing security posture and risk.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience building and operating production systems in high-scale environments.
  • Significant experience using an object-oriented language such as C#, Java, C++, or a similar language.
  • Proven experience designing and delivering distributed systems at scale.
  • Strong experience with infrastructure-as-code and automated deployment pipelines.
  • Deep understanding of system reliability, observability, and operational excellence.
  • Experience leading technical design and influencing architecture across teams.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related engineering field, or equivalent experience.
  • Previous lead experience is desired.
  • Experience with identity and access management systems is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, cloud platforms, or hybrid infrastructure at scale is a plus.
  • Background in security engineering or site reliability engineering is a plus.
  • Interest in applying automation or AI to improve security posture and resilience is a plus.
