Base Salary

$125k - $229k/yr

Responsibilities

Lead the architecture, implementation, and long-term evolution of large-scale platform security services.
Own cross-cutting initiatives involving authentication, authorization, identity, and secure access.
Make architectural decisions balancing security, reliability, scalability, and developer experience.
Build and maintain shared libraries and frameworks for secure-by-default engineering practices.
Drive testing, observability, operational readiness, and incident response for security-critical systems.
Partner with engineers, SREs, and stakeholders across teams to deliver platform security capabilities.
Mentor engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and technical leadership.
Manage a small team of engineers and provide technical direction and mentorship.
Participate in on-call rotations and lead incident response.
Explore automation and AI-driven approaches for assessing security posture and risk.

7+ years of experience building and operating production systems in high-scale environments.
Significant experience using an object-oriented language such as C#, Java, C++, or a similar language.
Proven experience designing and delivering distributed systems at scale.
Strong experience with infrastructure-as-code and automated deployment pipelines.
Deep understanding of system reliability, observability, and operational excellence.
Experience leading technical design and influencing architecture across teams.
Strong communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related engineering field, or equivalent experience.
Previous lead experience is desired.
Experience with identity and access management systems is a plus.
Familiarity with Kubernetes, cloud platforms, or hybrid infrastructure at scale is a plus.
Background in security engineering or site reliability engineering is a plus.
Interest in applying automation or AI to improve security posture and resilience is a plus.
