Base Salary
$140k - $260k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build core workflow engine primitives for orchestrating agents and dataflows.
- Own the real-time control plane, including streaming events and job orchestration.
- Ship scalable, production-grade workflows from prototypes.
- Design and implement Rust-first backend services and APIs for workflows.
- Enhance job orchestration with various response modes and durable state.
- Strengthen security and tenant isolation across the platform.
- Improve runtime behavior including scheduling and retries.
- Evolve schemas and manage migrations and query performance.
- Instrument systems with telemetry and uphold operational excellence.
- Collaborate with product, frontend, and data teams to deliver features.
Requirements
- Strong portfolio or GitHub demonstrating backend or systems design expertise.
- Proficient in Rust and capable of managing services in production.
- Solid experience with SQL and PostgreSQL for relational data modeling.
- Familiar with distributed systems patterns like messaging and retries.
- Knowledge of caching systems like Redis and real-time delivery methods.
- Strong understanding of API security, multi-tenancy, and best practices.
- Collaborative and product-minded, thriving in fast-paced environments.
- Experience with workflow engines, schedulers, or agent runtimes.
- Practical exposure to containerization, CI/CD, and cloud environments.
- Experience with Rust 2024, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka or NATS.
