Base Salary

$140k - $185k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Advance computer vision and image-processing prototypes into production-ready software.
  • Design and implement multi-feature and target tracking and localization algorithms for challenging environments.
  • Develop mathematical models for statistical error, uncertainty, confidence, and covariance estimation.
  • Implement outlier rejection, noise filtering, and subpixel refinement techniques.
  • Create validation frameworks, simulation scenarios, and benchmarks to compare algorithm performance.
  • Evaluate how sensor and optical hardware characteristics affect algorithm performance and system design.
  • Define and maintain software interfaces, data contracts, and schema-validated API structures.
  • Collaborate across software, GNC, autonomy, and spacecraft systems teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience developing computer vision, image processing, or estimation algorithms in production, research, or mission-critical environments.
  • Strong knowledge of computer vision, image processing, estimation theory, linear algebra, probability, statistics, and numerical optimization.
  • Experience developing algorithm software, simulations, and performance evaluations in C++ and/or Python.
  • Experience validating and optimizing algorithms with real-world sensor data, synthetic datasets, or simulation environments.
  • Familiarity with camera systems, optical sensors, image formation, calibration, lighting, and environmental effects.
  • Experience with version control, testing, debugging, documentation, and collaborative software development.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts and collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Advanced degree research may be considered in lieu of some professional experience.
  • Applicants must meet applicable U.S. Government space technology export-control eligibility requirements.
