Responsibilities
- Develop core fundraising features for campaigns, participants, donations, reporting, and metrics.
- Integrate and maintain payment processing with credit card, PayPal, ACH/EFT, automatic payouts, payment requests, and reconciliation.
- Build and maintain multi-tenant white-label functionality including branding, feature flags, and partner configuration.
- Implement fraud detection, device fingerprinting, and abuse mitigation capabilities.
- Develop reliable background processing for email delivery, data exports, and scheduled metric calculations.
- Own features end-to-end from database schema through background jobs and user-facing UI.
- Review designs before implementation and deliver explicit, well-engineered, tested, and reviewable changes.
- Maintain production reliability through careful migrations, monitoring, and attention to correctness.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience building and maintaining production web applications with strong Ruby on Rails experience.
- Strong understanding of relational database design, query performance, and safe migrations against large production tables.
- Experience integrating third-party APIs, preferably payment processors, including retries, idempotency, webhooks, and reconciliation.
- Ability to write well-tested code and treat correctness and edge cases as first-class concerns.
- Comfort working across the stack with server-rendered views and front-end interactivity.
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical tradeoffs clearly.
- Preferred experience with payment or fintech systems, PCI considerations, or handling money in software.
- Preferred familiarity with multi-tenant or white-label architectures, background job systems, fraud detection, trust and safety systems, feature flagging, and A/B experimentation.
