Base Salary
$120k - $261k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver fast, reliable, and secure components in Rust, Python, and TypeScript for the quantum developer experience.
- Build language and compiler features for Q#, OpenQASM, QIR, and related quantum technologies.
- Create VS Code integrations and interactive tooling for complex quantum systems.
- Integrate AI capabilities into quantum development workflows.
- Collaborate with quantum chemistry, error correction, control systems, and hardware experts on end-to-end solutions.
- Engage with the open-source community, triage issues, and contribute ecosystem improvements.
Requirements
- Minimum qualification: doctorate in a relevant field plus 1+ years of software industry experience, master's degree plus 3+ years, bachelor's degree plus 4+ years, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred experience includes 3+ years working with languages, compilers, simulators, code editors, or AI integration.
- Experience with Rust, Python, or web technologies including HTML and CSS is preferred.
- Knowledge of quantum computing fundamentals or related mathematics is preferred.
- Familiarity with QDK, Qiskit, Cirq, Pennylane, CUDA-Q, or similar quantum development stacks is preferred.
- Experience with GPU development and LLVM IR or compiler infrastructure is preferred.
- Preferred qualifications include 4+ years of programming experience in related languages and 4+ years in a collaborative environment.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check, is required.
- Eligibility to access export-controlled information requires citizenship or protected-status verification.
- Ability to work in an AI-first environment and use modern AI tools for discovery, modeling, research, and automation is required.
