Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, troubleshoot, and maintain secure, scalable production software solutions.
  • Build Python backend services and data-intensive applications that integrate with data and machine learning systems.
  • Create architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensure constraints are reflected in development.
  • Analyze large, diverse datasets to create visualizations and reporting that improve software applications and systems.
  • Identify data patterns and hidden problems to improve coding hygiene and system architecture.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and platform engineers on machine learning and artificial intelligence solution development and deployment.
  • Use enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation tools for coding, testing, troubleshooting, refactoring, and documentation, while validating outputs through review, testing, and secure coding practices.
  • Contribute to engineering communities of practice and explore emerging technologies.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with proficient applied experience.
  • Proficiency in Python for scalable backend services and data-intensive applications.
  • Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining production code with modern programming and database querying languages in a large-scale environment.
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle practices, application resiliency, security, and agile delivery.
  • Knowledge of a technical discipline such as cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or data engineering.
  • Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and critically evaluating AI-generated outputs.
  • Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
  • Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and model development or deployment pipelines is preferred.
  • Exposure to cloud-based infrastructure and data services is preferred.
  • Knowledge of traditional machine learning and large language model serving in production environments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with modern front-end technologies or data visualization tools is preferred.
