Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Own architectural direction and long-term system health for one or more technical domains across multiple business functions.
- Design and evolve large-scale data platforms and backend services involving distributed compute, streaming systems, low-latency query layers, and APIs.
- Establish data modeling standards across operational and analytical domains.
- Lead production-grade AI systems using LLM integration, RAG pipelines, vector search, semantic retrieval, and agent orchestration.
- Define cross-cutting standards and reference implementations for AI and data governance, observability, performance, security, and cost.
- Guide modernization, manage scaling risks, partner with product and engineering leaders, and contribute high-leverage production code.
- Mentor senior engineers and raise engineering and AI-native development standards across the organization.
Requirements
- 15+ years of software engineering experience with deep backend system architecture expertise.
- Strong object-oriented programming foundation and ability to design modular, extensible, maintainable systems at scale.
- Proven experience building and operating large-scale data platforms and data-driven applications, including distributed compute and batch and streaming processing.
- Deep expertise designing, implementing, and evolving REST and GraphQL APIs at scale, including schema design, versioning, performance, authorization, compatibility, and developer experience.
- Hands-on experience with distributed data processing, streaming architectures, event-driven systems, and low-latency query engines, including Spark or similar tools and Kafka.
- Experience architecting and delivering reliable, observable, maintainable production systems that automate complex cross-domain workflows.
- Practical experience with LLM integration, RAG architectures, vector search, MCP, agent orchestration, or similar intelligent-system patterns.
- Experience operating in cloud-native environments with modern CI/CD practices.
- Demonstrated ability to influence architecture across domains, navigate organizational boundaries, and operate autonomously at a strategic level.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field required; master’s degree preferred.

- Base pay is listed as $198,240.00–$272,580.00 annually, with potential eligibility for equity and/or bonus incentive compensation.
