Responsibilities
- Build and maintain reliable Linux infrastructure for front-office trading systems.
- Support and maintain KDB databases, including data ingestion, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Implement monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve infrastructure issues.
- Develop and deploy automation scripts to reduce manual operational work.
- Respond to and resolve incidents while minimizing impact on trading activities.
- Collaborate with development and trading teams to understand requirements and provide reliable solutions.
- Create and maintain comprehensive systems and process documentation.
- Provide technical direction, advise senior stakeholders, manage risks and controls, and guide less experienced specialists.
Requirements
- Strong Linux system administration experience, including shell scripting and performance tuning.
- Foundational knowledge of KDB architecture, the q query language, and data management.
- Experience with front-office trading platforms and their operational requirements.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Familiarity with REST APIs and Python APIs is valued.
- Knowledge of AWS or other cloud platforms for data storage and processing is valued.
- Experience with Ansible, Puppet, or Chef is valued.
