Base Salary
$165k - $207k/yr
Responsibilities
- Contribute to Box’s caching architecture migration from Memcached and Redis to next-generation caching solutions.
- Develop solutions for scale, performance, resilience, and high-throughput data-tier challenges.
- Partner with client teams to understand traffic patterns and provide guidance on effective caching strategies.
- Operate production-critical services and identify opportunities to improve reliability.
- Collaborate on technical design, architecture decisions, and the team’s technical direction.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to and triage service issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and code design principles.
- Strong understanding of high-scale distributed systems.
- Preferred: experience with JVM-based languages such as Java and Scala.
- Preferred: familiarity with Memcached and Redis.
- Passion for scale and performance challenges.
