Base Salary
$115k - $130k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage secure GCP infrastructure with Terraform, including reusable modules, remote state, and environment promotion.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure changes with code review, policy checks, and automated validation.
- Design and operate GCP networking, including VPCs, subnets, firewalls, Cloud NAT, Cloud DNS, load balancing, shared networking, Cloud VPN, and Cloud Interconnect.
- Implement IAM least privilege, organization policies, service accounts, secrets management, landing zones, resource hierarchy, and governance.
- Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting using Google Cloud Operations Suite, Prometheus, or Grafana.
- Improve availability, performance, and cost efficiency while supporting incident response and root cause analysis.
- Automate operational tasks with Python or Bash and use Gemini and Claude to develop and review infrastructure code.
- Set infrastructure standards, review changes, mentor engineers, collaborate with application, security, and delivery teams, and document designs and runbooks.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of cloud or infrastructure engineering experience, including at least 3 years of hands-on Google Cloud Platform experience.
- Expert-level GCP infrastructure and networking skills, including VPC design, firewalls, load balancing, DNS, shared VPC, and VPN or Interconnect.
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining infrastructure as code with Terraform.
- Working knowledge of Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, and IAM.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and Python or Bash.
- Experience designing GCP landing zones, resource hierarchies, and governance.
- Experience with AI-native delivery using AI assistants, including familiarity with Gemini and Claude.
- Experience guiding technical work or mentoring engineers, with strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Preferred qualifications include Google Cloud certifications, HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate, data center to GCP migration experience, Kubernetes/GKE operations experience, and observability experience with Cloud Operations Suite, Prometheus, or Grafana.
