Responsibilities
- Build and maintain stable, performant full-stack software for FanDuel’s Account products.
- Develop distributed, scalable, and highly available backend systems and APIs.
- Contribute to large web applications using React, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Write simple, extensible, well-tested code and participate in code reviews and design discussions.
- Own parts of the product and technology, resolve root causes of complex problems, and improve maintainability.
- Participate in planning, support-ticket reviews, estimation, delivery, and software-process improvements.
Requirements
- A Computer Science or related software engineering degree, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.
- 2+ years of experience is preferred.
- Experience with Java, Python, or similar languages for distributed backend systems and APIs.
- Understanding of data structures, algorithms, relational and non-relational databases, messaging queues, and concurrency.
- Knowledge of production release processes for APIs and services.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.
- Understanding of containers, orchestration, and Infrastructure as Code, including Docker, Kubernetes, CloudFormation, or Terraform.
- Experience with testing concepts and tools and integrating testing practices into the software development lifecycle.
- Experience contributing to React web applications using JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Experience with design-system libraries and testing across browsers and native devices.
- Understanding of web performance, accessibility, and Agile software development.
- Strong ownership, urgency, adaptability, communication, and commitment to continuous learning.
