Base Salary
$210k - $255k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and scale customer-facing platform services, including greenfield 0-to-1 projects and systems handling growing production traffic.
- Review edge-agent architectures, guide in-flight designs, and provide technical oversight for software running on customer infrastructure.
- Build and maintain lightweight, highly reliable agents deployed on customer virtual machines.
- Instrument Linux kernel metrics using eBPF and procfs for monitoring and telemetry pipelines.
- Own agent packaging and distribution through Helm charts across customer environments.
- Design and evolve pull-based scraping logic for collecting infrastructure metrics with low operational overhead.
- Collaborate with Control Plane, Storage, SRE, and Compute teams on reliable agent data and lower-level platform integration.
- Set team-wide technical patterns, contribute to architecture decisions, mentor senior engineers, and help scope quarterly roadmap work.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Python, Go, and/or Shell scripting.
- Experience instrumenting low-level Linux system metrics with comfort working at the procfs level.
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes internals and experience packaging and deploying workloads with Helm charts.
- Required on-call experience on a customer-facing team.
- Ability to design for crash safety, low resource usage, graceful degradation, resiliency, high availability, and disaster recovery.
- Ability to lead cross-domain efforts, own team architecture, coach multiple engineers, and establish engineering frameworks.
- Ability to communicate concisely and proactively while anticipating blockers.
