Base Salary
$120k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain multi-physics simulation libraries for spacecraft dynamics, thermal systems, attitude control, propulsion, power, sensors, and actuators.
- Implement coupled-physics algorithms, time-stepping algorithms, solver architectures, and integration schemes for real-time and faster-than-real-time simulation.
- Write efficient, maintainable modern C++ code and maintain APIs in Python and C++.
- Collaborate with internal teams using simulation APIs for mission planning, spacecraft operations algorithms, and trade-space analysis.
- Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and sprint planning while maintaining software quality and project timelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, physics, a similar discipline, or relevant experience.
- 1–3 years of professional C++ experience.
- Experience using Python for scripting and application prototyping.
- Strong object-oriented software development knowledge and an understanding of complex distributed systems.
- Preferred experience with physics-based spacecraft modeling and simulation environments, numerical methods, spacecraft subsystems, coordinate transformations, quaternion mathematics, orbital mechanics, model validation, verification, uncertainty quantification, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible for DoD Secret or TS/SCI clearance, or meet applicable ITAR authorization requirements.
