Responsibilities
- Develop solutions for instrumentation and test automation problems, primarily supporting calibration processes.
- Develop, integrate, test, build, and deploy automated test software across the full software development lifecycle.
- Interface with measurement and test equipment and troubleshoot hardware and software integration issues.
- Produce documentation throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and partners to execute project plans.
- Contribute to the development, selection, tailoring, and deployment of processes, tools, metrics, and lean-process improvements.
- Work collaboratively with global teams and flexible hours as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, computer science, mechanical, civil, aerospace/aeronautical, materials science, or a directly related equivalent qualification.
- Typically 4 to 8 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, such as a master’s degree with 3 to 7 years of experience.
- Understanding of complex architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and avionics system designs.
- Experience with hardware-in-the-loop architecture, plant model creation, test-bench simulation, debugging, and bug fixes.
- Hands-on experience with NI LabVIEW, LabVIEW Real-Time, and LabVIEW FPGA.
- Experience using Python, C, C#, or Visual Basic for instrument communication.
- Experience with hardware/software integration and automated test equipment.
- Knowledge of test engineering disciplines, test strategy, test authoring and review, and measurement and test equipment.
- Knowledge or experience with RS-422, RS-232, TCP/IP, Ethernet, UDP, A429, A664/AFDX, and ARINC 653 protocols or interfaces.
- Experience managing software code repositories and continuous integration/deployment is highly desirable.
- Strong verbal and written communication, teamwork, self-motivation, flexibility, and ability to work across cultures and time zones.
- Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s or master’s degree in instrumentation, electrical, or electronics engineering and awareness of AS9100, ISO 9001, and ISO 17025.
