Base Salary
$200k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own entire product modules end to end, including customer scoping, versioned API design, UI development, shipping, and iteration.
- Design and evolve architecture for agentic AI systems spanning Slack bots, terminal UIs, web interfaces, and vendor integrations.
- Make product features usable by LLM agents through MCP/FastMCP servers and conversational interfaces.
- Move pricing and business logic into backend services to preserve financial correctness.
- Extend and maintain typed pricing ontologies using Pydantic models.
- Lead technical discussions and architectural reviews focused on robust, extensible, and secure systems.
- Establish testing, observability, deployment, and performance monitoring practices for AI-driven features.
- Mentor peers, influence product strategy, and shape engineering culture and best practices.
- Perform root-cause analysis for production issues and maintain high standards for money-handling code.
- Improve an AI-native software development lifecycle with agent-assisted coding and automated review gates.
Requirements
- 8+ years of engineering experience with strong full-stack skills and ownership of product areas at startup or staff-engineer scope.
- Deep backend expertise with FastAPI, Python, and MongoDB or a comparable modern stack.
- Frontend experience with React and TypeScript, including the ability to independently ship polished user interfaces.
- Experience taking ambiguous customer problems to shipped features without a dedicated product manager.
- Experience designing and building REST or GraphQL APIs with clear contracts and versioning.
- High standards for correctness, particularly for financial or pricing logic.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
- Interest or hands-on experience with B2B monetization concepts such as pricing models, packaging, quoting, billing, or CPQ is preferred.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor or Copilot and experience integrating LLM agent tooling or MCP-like servers is preferred.
- Prior early-stage or founding-engineer startup experience is preferred.
