Responsibilities

  • Design and develop new algorithms and technology for automated clock-tree synthesis in the Innovus place-and-route tool.
  • Develop C++ and Tcl code in a distributed, global software development environment.
  • Maintain and improve existing code to increase scalability, reduce tool turnaround time, and reduce memory usage.
  • Debug customer issues and fix software defects.
  • Build unit tests, run regressions, and validate software functionality.
  • Test algorithmic developments and software integrations on industrial test cases.

Requirements

  • Completed bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or another numerate discipline.
  • Strong programming and software engineering experience in a C-like language such as C, C++, Java, C#, or Rust.
  • Interest in language features, data structures, design patterns, unit testing, and automation tools.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Portuguese.
  • Ability to meet stringent deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Master’s degree or at least two years of comparable software engineering experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and electronic design automation concepts such as placement, routing, and clock-tree synthesis is preferred.
  • Experience with Perforce or Git, Linux command-line tools, and agentic coding systems such as Claude Code or GitHub Copilot is preferred.
