Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, maintain, deploy, monitor, and continuously improve software for the Dispatch 6 platform.
- Develop scalable backend services and application components using modern software engineering practices.
- Own features and services throughout their lifecycle, including implementation, production support, troubleshooting, and reliability improvements.
- Analyze and resolve complex production issues while improving system reliability, observability, performance, and operational support.
- Participate in architecture discussions, technical design decisions, code reviews, Agile planning, and technical debt reduction.
- Support automated testing and CI/CD pipelines and contribute to software quality and maintainability.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Architecture, QA, DevOps, Support, UX, and engineering teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
- Investigate customer issues, perform root cause analysis, and improve product reliability and customer outcomes.
- Share technical knowledge and support the growth of other engineers through collaboration and technical discussions.
- Develop understanding of Dispatch workflows, mining operations, and Modular’s software ecosystem.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in C# and the .NET ecosystem or similar object-oriented languages such as C++ or Java.
- Experience designing and developing distributed or service-oriented applications and backend services.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design, SOLID principles, design patterns, and software architecture.
- Experience developing RESTful APIs, working with SQL databases and data modeling, and completing the full software development life cycle.
- Experience writing automated unit and integration tests.
- Experience with HTTP/gRPC, dependency injection, JSON/XML serialization, SQL Server, Entity Framework, microservices, multithreading, asynchronous programming, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Git, Azure DevOps, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Strong analytical, debugging, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
- Experience with enterprise-scale or mission-critical applications, cloud-native development, observability, monitoring, logging, networking, third-party integrations, or real-time operational systems is desirable.
- Experience with C++ and embedded software development, mining operations, fleet management, industrial automation, telemetry, or IoT is desirable.
- Experience leading technical initiatives or serving as a technical owner for features or components is desirable.
