Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
Design and implement REST APIs and microservices with attention to performance, security, maintainability, and resilience.
Contribute to technical design and architecture decisions.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code and uphold code-review and quality standards.
Support CI/CD and deployment processes in collaboration with DevOps and other engineering roles.
Troubleshoot complex technical and production issues and contribute to root-cause analysis.
Coach and mentor developers and improve engineering practices through pair programming, peer reviews, and continuous improvement.
Communicate technical decisions and trade-offs and collaborate with distributed teams across Portugal and the Netherlands.

Strong knowledge of Java and Spring Boot.
Solid experience designing and developing REST APIs and microservices.
Good understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and clean-code principles.
Strong experience with automated unit and integration testing.
Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with a public cloud platform such as Azure, AWS, or GCP is advantageous.
Understanding of application security and secure development practices.
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
Ability to explain technical decisions to technical and non-technical colleagues and challenge existing solutions constructively.
Professional working proficiency in English.
