Responsibilities
- Design, architect, and implement highly available Kubernetes-based on-premises solutions, including air-gapped and appliance deployments.
- Extend and maintain the Kubernetes operator responsible for installing, upgrading, and healing NetBox Enterprise.
- Develop the operational management console, lifecycle management tools, internal APIs, and integration-testing tooling.
- Build CI/CD pipelines and manage GitOps delivery, infrastructure automation, versioning, and six-week release cycles.
- Write Python and Rust across operator internals, tooling, and APIs.
- Create deployment documentation and best-practice guidelines.
- Participate in the weekly Engineering Guardian rotation and diagnose deployment and operational issues with customers and internal teams.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or SRE.
- Strong experience writing robust, maintainable software and building Kubernetes-based, multi-cluster, and multi-region deployments.
- Expertise with Kubernetes, Helm charts, deployment automation, GitHub Actions, GitOps delivery, and Terraform.
- Strong Python skills for tooling, APIs, and automation.
- Hands-on experience with Claude Code and reliable agentic development workflows.
- Strong Linux system administration, troubleshooting, and networking knowledge.
- Understanding of software supply chain security, vulnerability scanning, and CVE management using tools such as Trivy, Dependabot, and GitHub code scanning.
- Comfort working directly with customers to diagnose deployment and operational issues.
- Rust or Golang experience, virtual appliances, air-gapped installations, Replicated, networking, distributed systems, startup experience, or open-source contributions are preferred.
