Responsibilities
- Identify and implement new compiler optimizations.
- Work across intermediate representations including CPS, SSA, and potentially Sea of Nodes.
- Code, test, benchmark, and deploy compiler changes.
- Collaborate with groups and colleagues across Jane Street worldwide.
- Optionally manage a team of developers alongside normal technical work.
Requirements
- Experienced software engineer with compiler toolchain experience; experience with any compiler toolchain is considered.
- Ability to write correct code productively and use AI assistance to accelerate production changes.
- Experience with debuggers such as lldb or gdb and low-level Linux tools.
- Knowledge of x86-64 and AArch64 architectures at the assembly-language and architectural levels is a plus.
- Knowledge of LLVM is useful but not required.
- No prior OCaml or OxCaml knowledge is required.
- Proven experience managing a team of developers is of particular interest.
