Responsibilities
- Own application-level software delivery tasks across development, testing, deployment, release, configuration, and documentation.
- Develop, troubleshoot, refactor, and review secure, high-quality code and reusable UI experiences.
- Integrate services around customer journeys and contribute to end-to-end architecture and dependency understanding.
- Automate build, operational, testing, and release workflows using standardized pipelines.
- Apply code-quality, vulnerability-scanning, testing, and design-pattern practices during development.
- Participate in prioritization, backlog delivery, design and process trade-offs, demos, and product acceptance discussions.
- Improve engineering experience, incident mitigation, availability, and processes within the ownership area.
- Drive adoption of technology standards and mentor new and less-experienced team members.
Requirements
- Ability to write secure code in three or more languages, such as Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, and SQL.
- Familiarity with secure coding standards, vulnerability management, infrastructure as code, and cloud-first software development.
- Experience with branching, peer review, CI/CD concepts, automation, pipelines, virtualization, and containerization.
- Experience using code-quality and security tools such as Sonar, Zally, and Checkmarx.
- Knowledge of test-driven development, behavior-driven development, testing pyramids, contract tests, and integration tests.
- Understanding of basic and advanced software design patterns, API standards and cataloging, and application patterns such as event-driven, batch, web, and big-data services.
- Ability to estimate non-functional requirements involving security, regulatory needs, performance, throughput, and availability.
- Experience orchestrating release workflows and pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, AWS or Azure pipelines, and XL Release.
- Ability to debug and troubleshoot core, heap, and thread dumps and resolve coding errors.
- Ability to conduct product demos, coordinate with product owners, and support acceptance signoffs.
- Knowledge of customer journeys, incident mitigation, and high-availability practices.
- Experience with agile and modern software development lifecycle practices is expected.
