Responsibilities
- Define Wipro’s Physical AI reference architecture across perception, policy, planning, control, and data layers.
- Build simulation, digital-twin, domain-randomization, synthetic-data, and evaluation pipelines for sim-to-real development.
- Lead robot-learning work involving vision-language-action models, imitation learning, teleoperation data, and world models.
- Deploy and validate robotics systems on industrial arms, mobile bases, quadrupeds, humanoids, and customer sites.
- Scope and lead customer proof-of-value engagements and translate operational problems into robotics solutions.
- Hire, mentor, and grow engineers and research scientists across ML, robotics, controls, and simulation.
- Set engineering standards, guide architecture decisions, establish code-review culture, and collaborate with ecosystem partners.
Requirements
- Hands-on foundation in AI/ML and robotics, including imitation learning, policy learning, or vision-language-action architectures.
- Grounding in kinematics, motion planning, and control, with experience using MoveIt, OMPL, or equivalent tools.
- Fluency in Python and C++ in real-time control-loop contexts.
- Production or research experience with ROS 2 and simulation environments such as Isaac Sim, Isaac Lab, MuJoCo, Gazebo, or Unity.
- Experience building teleoperation and data-collection pipelines, including trajectory capture, dataset curation, and demonstration-corpus tooling.
- Demonstrated experience taking a robotics or embodied-AI system from prototype to reliable operation outside the lab.
- Technical leadership experience involving architecture decisions, code-review culture, and engineer development.
- Ability to work with customers and executives and explain technical and business concepts to senior stakeholders.
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Robotics, AI, ML, or a related field is a preferred qualification.
- Published work in robot learning, manipulation, or locomotion is preferred.
- Familiarity with VLA models such as OpenVLA, π0, or Gemini Robotics, or with LeRobot, is preferred.
- Experience with on-device inference, latency budgets, Jetson-class compute, manipulation, grasping, force control, dexterous end-effectors, consulting, product innovation, or enterprise AI delivery is preferred.
