Base Salary

$160k - $200k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Mentor engineering teams and promote observability best practices, SLIs, SLOs, and a reliability culture.
  • Contribute to and maintain Tulip’s triage and remediation processes as a player-coach.
  • Perform incident response and debug production issues across the entire technology stack.
  • Design, build, and maintain core infrastructure and tooling used by Tulip’s engineering teams.
  • Help set the technical agenda and develop broad, novel approaches to observability and monitoring.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience working with open-source observability tools such as Loki, Grafana, Tempo, and the Mimir stack.
  • Hands-on experience instrumenting distributed systems with OpenTelemetry and managing Prometheus metrics pipelines at scale.
  • Direct experience developing and distributing Claude Skills, Gemini Gems, or other generic AI processes and iterating on their effectiveness.
  • Experience working with time-series data, ideally using PromQL.
  • Ability to reason about systems at scale, including edge cases, failure modes, and system life cycles.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
