Responsibilities
- Lead team-level design for services and integration flows supporting alternative payment products and provider onboarding.
- Continue hands-on Java and Spring Boot development by implementing complex features, provider integrations, and production fixes.
- Create reusable templates, standards, and accelerators for provider authentication, routing, mapping, validation, error handling, retries, and callback processing.
- Design resilient payment flows with idempotency, timeout handling, duplicate-event protection, callback recovery, traceability, and failure recovery.
- Improve engineering delivery through better design patterns, reusable components, clearer practices, and AI-assisted development.
- Establish testing strategies covering unit, mutation, integration, contract, acceptance, and performance testing.
- Drive CI/CD quality gates, automated checks, and immutable image promotion from staging to production.
- Instrument services with OpenTelemetry and create actionable Splunk dashboards and xMatters alerts aligned to SLIs and SLOs.
- Optimize deployments through readiness and liveness checks, autoscaling, resource controls, rollout strategies, and rollback paths.
- Lead design and code reviews, mentor engineers, support knowledge sharing, and collaborate with product and partner-facing stakeholders.
Requirements
- 8–12 years of software engineering experience, including 2–4 years in a team lead, technical lead, or design lead capacity.
- Strong current hands-on Java and Spring Boot expertise with experience leading technical delivery while contributing production code.
- Production experience personally implementing payment provider, PSP, gateway, or alternative payment method integrations.
- Strong understanding of payment transaction lifecycles, provider APIs, asynchronous flows, retries, idempotency, payment state management, reconciliation, and failure recovery.
- Practical experience with AI-assisted software development tools and experimentation with emerging agentic engineering workflows.
- Hands-on CI/CD, DevOps, and containerization experience, including Kubernetes and OpenShift.
- Understanding of secure coding and OWASP practices.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills in cross-functional Agile teams.
- Experience using AI-assisted software engineering tools in day-to-day delivery is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with AI-first or agentic development practices is a plus.
