Base Salary

$168k - $253k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute end-to-end technical strategy for Digital Enablement platforms and applications from architecture and design through delivery and production support.
  • Define solution architectures, engineering standards, architectural patterns, and modernization strategies across teams and release trains.
  • Contribute production-quality code, technical designs, prototypes, and reference implementations for complex initiatives.
  • Lead resolution of high-severity production incidents, systemic design problems, and recurring defects or reliability issues.
  • Promote quality engineering, testability, automation, observability, monitoring, alerting, resiliency, and operational readiness.
  • Identify and validate AI-enabled capabilities and GenAI solutions through proof-of-concept efforts.
  • Champion AI-driven SDLC, DevOps, CI/CD, automation-first delivery, and environment hygiene.
  • Assess technology risks, external trends, build-versus-buy decisions, modernization sequencing, and platform dependencies.
  • Partner with product owners, Enterprise Architecture, Security, Platform, DevSecOps, and Reliability Engineering teams.
  • Mentor engineers and influence technical direction, prioritization, and decision-making across multiple teams or domains.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in enterprise application development and large-scale system delivery.
  • Demonstrated success delivering complex, mission-critical systems in Agile environments and influencing technical direction across multiple teams or domains.
  • Demonstrated success using AI tools in the SDLC to improve business outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to drive clarity and sound decisions in ambiguous situations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Angular/TypeScript, SQL, and modern application architectures.
  • Deep experience with cloud-native platforms, with AWS experience preferred.
  • Expertise in APIs, microservices, event-driven architectures, and distributed systems.
  • Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Application Insights and Splunk.
  • Experience with Identity and Access Management; mobile experience is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with AI frameworks and AI-assisted development tools.
  • Finance and/or insurance industry experience is strongly preferred.

  • Hybrid schedule requiring work in an office in Columbus, OH; Chicago, IL; Hartford, CT; or Charlotte, NC three days per week, Tuesday through Thursday.
