Responsibilities
- Architect and implement solutions that enable internal and external customers to use ByteDance’s globally scaled content delivery network.
- Build metrics, tools, automation, visualizations, and monitoring systems for operating and optimizing edge services.
- Develop procedures and workflows that improve operational efficiency, trust, and compliance.
- Conduct vulnerability and capacity assessments and develop disaster recovery strategies for high availability of global CDN services.
- Participate in technical operations and on-call rotations to address performance and reliability issues.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, C++, or Go, or scripting languages such as Shell and Python.
- Experience in a multi-CDN environment is preferred.
- Experience with TCP/IP, BGP, and DNS in carrier-grade environments is preferred; prior CDN experience is a plus.
- Experience designing, analyzing, and building automation and tools for large-scale systems is preferred.
- Experience developing and operating systems such as OpenStack, Kubernetes, Nginx, IPVS, ELK Stack, or Hadoop is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, self-direction, and project delivery skills are preferred.
