Responsibilities
- Design, prototype, build, and test production vehicle firmware for safety-critical systems.
- Develop and optimize applications in RTOS environments for reliability and performance.
- Own and evolve the communication architecture between MCUs, sensors, and main compute.
- Lead bring-up and debugging for new boards and SoCs, partnering with electrical engineers.
- Define and build automated testing frameworks at unit, integration, and system levels.
- Mentor other embedded engineers and set engineering standards across the team.
Requirements
- Expert-level C and/or C++ programming skills for embedded systems.
- Strong command of communication protocols like SPI, UART, I2C, and CAN.
- Experience developing on RTOS environments such as embedded Linux or QNX.
- Experience with MCU bootloaders, device drivers, and new board or SoC bring-up.
- Demonstrated optimization skills for resource-constrained platforms.
- Typically 7+ years of experience in embedded software for production systems.
