Base Salary
$197k - $345k/yr
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to conceptualize and build high-impact Slackbot features.
- Develop search and intelligence systems that find and surface information across connected sources.
- Design, build, and own scalable, performant APIs, integrations, and platform foundations.
- Define the long-term health and roadmap of owned systems and improve surrounding integrations.
- Triage and resolve complex production issues with support and operations teams.
- Mentor engineers, conduct deep code reviews, and improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional experience building and shipping web applications with a backend focus.
- Experience with functional or imperative programming languages such as PHP, Python, Java, Ruby, Go, or C.
- Experience with search infrastructure, large-scale APIs, or AI-powered systems is highly desirable.
- Ability to contribute significantly to technical architecture discussions and drive critical technical decisions across teams.
- Track record of writing understandable, testable, and maintainable code.
- Strong computer science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, programming languages, distributed systems, and information retrieval.
- Strong communication skills for explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Expertise in PHP/Hack, Java, MySQL, and Linux is a strong plus; familiarity with other web languages and relational databases may substitute.
