Responsibilities

  • Design and implement memory-safety techniques for extremely large-scale software systems.
  • Deploy exploit mitigations, retrofit spatial safety to C++, and transition systems to memory-safe languages such as Rust.
  • Fix memory-safety issues across Google products, from security research and tactical mitigations through root-cause engineering.
  • Collaborate with partner teams in Google’s Memory Safety program, industry, and academia.
  • Research and apply techniques including program analysis and machine learning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Two years of software development experience in one or more programming languages, or one year with an advanced degree.
  • Two years of experience building software for data privacy or security, such as identity and access management.
  • Preferred: master’s degree or PhD in computer science or a related technical field.
  • Preferred: experience with data structures and algorithms, Rust, system architecture, compilers, open source technologies, programming language implementation, security, API design, and computer and network security.
