Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product management, content data platform services, and internal consumer teams on the content data platform and its architecture.
- Build low-latency, optimized streaming and batch data pipelines for downstream services.
- Build and support microservices-based, event-driven backend systems and data platforms.
- Design and build batch, near-real-time, and real-time data processing pipelines.
- Participate in architecture discussions, influence the product roadmap, and take ownership of new projects.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer.
- Proficiency in Java, Scala, or Python.
- Deep understanding of backend technologies, architecture patterns, microservices, RESTful APIs, message queues, caching, and databases.
- Experience with microservice and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with Apache Spark and Apache Flink.
- Experience with big data frameworks and tools such as MapReduce, Hive, Presto, HDFS, YARN, and Kafka.
- Experience with Apache Airflow or similar workflow orchestration tools for ETL.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or similar; AWS is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills, including knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science required; master's degree in Computer Science preferred.
- Fluency with agentic engineering tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, MCP servers, custom skills, or agent frameworks, demonstrated through shipped work.
