Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate backend services supporting control planes, user-access management, backup workflows, and other core platform capabilities.
- Own features and backend components from implementation through production operation, improving them using operational signals and customer feedback.
- Contribute to service design and API development while balancing correctness, scalability, cost, and maintainability.
- Write and review production-quality code, diagnose complex backend issues, and participate in on-call and operational responsibilities.
- Collaborate with Product, quality assurance, customer-facing, and other teams to clarify requirements and ensure production readiness.
- Mentor junior engineers and reinforce backend platform reliability, scalability, and engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, including ownership of features or components from implementation through production operation.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Go, Python, Java, or Rust, with Go preferred.
- Experience building and operating non-trivial production systems, diagnosing issues, and improving implementations based on real-world behavior.
- Ability to translate loosely defined requirements into correct, maintainable technical solutions and make sound trade-offs under uncertainty.
- Strong collaboration, self-direction, shared ownership, and cross-functional communication skills across distributed teams and time zones.
- Security and SaaS experience are strongly preferred.
