Base Salary

$121k - $180k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain reliable, reusable, testable platform code and core services.
  • Improve application, ingestion, and data-layer scalability, resilience, performance, and code quality.
  • Design and operate ClickHouse analytical databases, including schemas, distributed clusters, ingestion, query performance, storage policies, tuning, and upgrades.
  • Build or support high-throughput ingestion pipelines using streaming, asynchronous processing, batch loading, or change-data-capture workflows.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, Security Engineering, and external partners to define and deliver solutions.
  • Participate across the software lifecycle, including requirements, design, coding, test automation, debugging, deployment, and production support.
  • Conduct code reviews and promote engineering excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of experience in software engineering.
  • Deep hands-on experience with ClickHouse table design and production operations, including ClickHouse Keeper, sharding, Distributed tables, ingestion, profiling, tuning, storage tiering, and monitoring.
  • Experience with analytical data modeling and trade-offs between transactional and analytical storage patterns.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL as a transactional state store alongside an analytical database.
  • High proficiency with Unix/Linux platforms and strong working experience with C#, Go, and Docker.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, networking, security, reliability, scalability, and high-performance distributed systems.
  • Strong DevOps experience, including building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
  • Preferred experience includes Kafka event-driven architectures, asynchronous and non-blocking ingestion, JOIN-heavy analytical workloads, Redis, OpenSearch, AWS, large-scale production deployments, and Linux systems fundamentals.

  • Typical base salary is USD $120,675–$180,000 per year, with potential eligibility for a corporate bonus program.

  • No travel is expected.
