Responsibilities
- Design and build robust services, APIs, CLI tools, and software modules for scientific applications and products.
- Integrate ML inference servers, hardware interfaces, and data pipelines into cohesive, highly available, low-latency systems.
- Own the production lifecycle from architectural design and coding through automated testing, benchmarking, deployment, and observability.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers, AI Scientists, Software Engineers, and domain experts.
- Promote high standards for code quality, system security, transparency, and software engineering practices.
Requirements
- MSc or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Extensive Software Engineering experience and strong Python proficiency, including production implementation and deployment of robust, scalable distributed systems.
- Experience designing, managing, and orchestrating systems involving scalable data infrastructure, hardware interfaces, and machine learning models.
- Expertise defining and exposing functionality through clean, documented APIs, including REST or gRPC.
- Experience implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines and reproducible development workflows.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for explaining system design, architecture decisions, and engineering practices.
- Preferred experience with Kubernetes, Ray, Spark, Slurm, Volcano, Kueue, vLLM, SGLang, GitOps, ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, and production systems across cloud, on-premises, and edge environments.
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced scientific R&D environment and translate scientific objectives into high-quality software.
