Base Salary
$199k - $261k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of AI-driven products from prototypes to production systems.
- Collaborate with product, design, business, and engineering stakeholders to understand user needs and deliver measurable outcomes.
- Experiment with LLMs, RAG, agentic workflows, and emerging AI models and techniques.
- Build and scale full-stack applications and intelligent agents that automate healthcare workflows.
- Evaluate and integrate emerging AI technologies.
- Contribute to Oscar’s AI strategy and technical vision.
- Mentor and train junior engineers while improving the quality, stability, correctness, and maintainability of technical work.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of professional experience in software engineering, data science, or a related field.
- At least 5 years leading cross-pod or cross-company deliverables and technical contributions.
- At least 5 years applying computer science concepts, setting coding standards, and leading technical teams.
- Strong Python programming skills.
- Experience solving complex, ambiguous problems and designing and analyzing experiments or evaluations.
- Experience or interest in prototyping full-stack applications.
- Preferred experience includes healthcare, legal or financial process automation, compliance and privacy, NLP, neural networks, transformers, modern AI frameworks, Docker, Kubernetes, React, or Golang.
- A degree in math, statistics, data science, or engineering is a bonus qualification.

- Hybrid schedule in the New York City office with 3 days in-office per week, including Thursdays.
- Base pay of $198,720–$260,820 per year, plus company equity grants and annual performance bonuses.
