Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain Java/Spring Boot backend applications.
- Develop and maintain APIs using appropriate HTTP methods and standards.
- Implement business logic using Core Java and Java 8 features.
- Develop SQL queries and perform database operations including joins, filtering, grouping, sorting, and aggregation.
- Debug and resolve issues across Java, Spring Boot, database, and Unix/Linux layers.
- Analyze application logs and investigate process, disk-space, file-permission, and application-related issues in Unix/Linux environments.
- Monitor applications, troubleshoot production and runtime issues, and support deployment activities.
- Participate in code reviews and follow established coding and development standards.
- Write unit and integration tests and contribute to service reliability and quality.
- Collaborate with business analysts, QA engineers, senior developers, and stakeholders to understand and deliver requirements.
- Identify and help resolve performance, reliability, and maintainability issues.
- Advise or coach new or lower-level analysts and consult with users, clients, and technology groups.
Requirements
- 4+ years of relevant experience in the financial-services industry.
- Intermediate-level experience in applications development or application support.
- Required knowledge of SWIFT message types, including MT and MX, and ISO 20022 payments.
- Bachelor’s or university degree, or equivalent experience.
- Payment gateway application knowledge is an advantage.
- MQ knowledge is an advantage.
- WebSphere knowledge is an advantage.
- DevOps-related experience or activities are relevant to the role.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or changing requirements.
