Base Salary

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support healthcare integrations throughout their lifecycle, including routes, endpoints, filters, transformations, mappings, and connectivity.
  • Own interface platform configuration, administration, monitoring, upgrades, production operations, capacity planning, and performance planning.
  • Operate secure cloud-hosted integrations with AWS, VPN connectivity, networking, TLS certificates, HTTPS endpoints, and customer connectivity.
  • Define integration engineering and operational standards covering reusable components, testing, change review, deployment, documentation, and environment promotion.
  • Lead production troubleshooting, root cause analysis, message recovery or reprocessing, and durable remediation across interfaces, HL7, applications, infrastructure, networks, and external systems.
  • Participate in an after-hours on-call and Tier 3 support rotation for high-priority integration and platform incidents.
  • Support customer technical teams with implementations, connectivity setup, troubleshooting, and production support.
  • Collaborate with Integration Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, Product, platform vendors, and other teams.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of healthcare integration experience building, deploying, and supporting hospital-based HL7v2 interfaces at scale.
  • Deep hands-on experience building and administering enterprise healthcare interface engines in production, including routes, endpoints, connectors, transformations, mappings, monitoring, deployment, message recovery, and troubleshooting.
  • Expert-level HL7v2 knowledge covering message structure, message types, trigger events, acknowledgements, transformations, sequencing, and error handling.
  • Strong JavaScript experience for message transformation and workflow logic; Python or another scripting language is a plus.
  • Working SQL proficiency for validation, troubleshooting, and operational analysis.
  • Experience supporting high-volume, mission-critical integration platforms in AWS or comparable cloud-hosted environments.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, MLLP, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS certificates, DNS, firewalls, VPNs, and secure connectivity.
  • Strong production support and troubleshooting ability across interface engines, HL7, applications, networks, infrastructure, and external dependencies.
  • Ability to work autonomously, collaborate across teams, own complex technical problems, and improve engineering standards, processes, and documentation.
  • Preferred experience includes SaaS or hosted interface engine operations, platform vendor support, healthcare integration certifications or training, hospital workflows, clinical data structures, revenue cycle data flows, SFTP, flat files, X12, REST APIs, SOAP web services, database connectivity, FHIR, Mirth Connect, Cloverleaf, Corepoint, or InterSystems.
  • Preferred qualifications also include automated testing, configuration management, repeatable environment promotion, capacity planning, performance tuning, and a strong ownership-oriented builder mindset.
