Base Salary
$130k - $160k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build backend services that contextualize IoT monitoring data and quantify shipment risk in real time.
- Own external partner-facing integrations across APIs, webhooks, queues, carrier feeds, sensors, and vendor systems.
- Build predictive systems for on-time, in-full outcomes and automate exception-handling workflows.
- Maintain production data pipelines covering normalization, warehousing, observability, and on-call response.
- Contribute to event-driven architectures using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging systems.
- Deploy and operate containerized services on AWS, GCP, or Azure using Docker and Kubernetes.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of backend engineering experience building scalable, data-intensive distributed systems.
- Hands-on proficiency in Python and TypeScript/Node.js, with strong SQL and relational data-modeling skills.
- Experience owning external partner-facing operational data integrations rather than only internal systems, DevOps, ETL, or general full-stack work.
- Experience with IoT data ingestion, processing, and contextualization.
- Experience designing and developing REST and/or gRPC APIs.
- Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and deploying services on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Strong software engineering practices, including testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and observability.
- Ability to operate independently as a senior individual contributor on a lean team.
- Logistics, cold-chain, supply-chain, or IoT domain knowledge is a strong plus.
- Experience with NoSQL databases, ETL pipelines, data security and privacy in regulated industries, or growth-stage startups is a plus.
