Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Translate technology strategy and business direction into architecture roadmaps aligned with organizational priorities and investment goals.
- Design and document conceptual, logical, and solution architectures, including service decomposition, API design, data flows, and integration patterns.
- Drive AI-first architectural approaches and identify opportunities for AI and agentic architecture in solution design.
- Author Architecture Decision Records documenting context, alternatives, trade-offs, and rationale.
- Evaluate event-driven, request/response, and CQRS architectural patterns and recommend appropriate approaches.
- Prototype and develop technology proofs of concept using agentic frameworks, cloud-native agent platforms, and AI-assisted coding tools.
- Provide hands-on architectural guidance through design reviews, technical discussions, and implementation support.
- Present architecture options, technology assessments, modernization progress, risks, and recommendations to engineering teams and VP-level leadership.
- Translate AI capabilities and limitations into business-relevant guidance and build consensus for modernization initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related STEM field, or equivalent education and/or work experience.
- At least 6 additional years of architecture or software engineering experience; 8 years of architecture experience is listed for the ideal candidate.
- Experience designing cloud-native applications across AWS, Azure, or GCP, with AWS preferred.
- Understanding of solution architecture patterns, API design, data modeling, distributed systems, and microservices.
- Experience or familiarity integrating AI/ML services, LLM-based capabilities, agentic patterns, or AI-assisted decision workflows into application architectures.
- Understanding of AI architecture concerns including non-deterministic outputs, testing, validation, fallback design, latency tolerance, graceful degradation, and cost management.
- Exposure to prompt chaining, tool-use patterns, retrieval-augmented generation, or workflow engines coordinating AI and deterministic steps.
- Extensive experience working in an agile operational model and supporting transformational change.
- Strong knowledge of the insurance industry is preferred, along with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical judgment, collaboration, verbal communication, written communication, and listening skills.
